The Steamcockle Adventure
A steampunk comedy of volcanoes, villainy, and very poor managerial decisions.
In Steamcockle-on-Sea — where the gulls shriek, the cockle pies steam, and the machinery rarely behaves — trouble has once again come calling.
When a strange message in a bottle washes ashore, begging for help, inventor Liv Hunch, the sharp-eyed Alice Springs, the ever-put-upon robot AI (Aggravating Intelligence), and the indomitable Grimsby find themselves bound for the mysterious Isle of Maechanique.
Beneath its jungles lies the Ultimata Centre: a labyrinth of malfunctioning prototypes, rogue automatons, and Ron Gammon — an industrial tyrant whose ambition far exceeds his competence. Unfortunately for everyone, he also has Mr Fluffypaws: a deceptively harmless-looking cat whose capacity for evil is exceeded only by his capacity for intimidation.
From hidden tunnels and crankhound stampedes to ancient tribes, drone swarms, and a volcano on the verge of eruption, the Steamcocklers must rely on quick wits, stubborn courage, and one very determined mechanical frog to stop the island from exploding in more ways than one.
Overflowing with steampunk absurdity, threaded with warmth, and propelled by improbable heroism, The Steamcockle Adventure is a comic romp for readers who like their quests perilous, their villains flustered, and their cats suspiciously powerful.
