One does not simply walk into Mordor. That is, at least, what Frodo Baggins was told. However, to thwart the Dark Lord, he will need to walk right in and cast the venomous Ring of Power, the One Ring to Rule Them All into the fires of Mount Doom. But can he do so when the Lidless Eye of the Lord of the Rings watches the land tirelessly in search of his precious weapon? Summary of the Book Long ago, in Eregion, the Elves forged the Rings of Power. Three they kept for themselves, to safeguard their havens. Seven they gave unto the Dwarves, so that they could use that power to mine the world to their will. Nine, oh, those nine they trusted into the hands of the Kings of Men, thinking that they'd be safe, that they'd be worth trusting. They believed that there were no more Rings. They believed that the genius who gave them the direction to create the Rings, was one of them. They were wrong. The Dark Lord, Sauron, for that is who that man in the shadows was, crafted a master Ring, the One Ring to Bring Them All and In the Darkness, Bind Them. In a great battle, they defeated him with the might of Isildur, King of Men. However, the One Ring was soon lost, and thought lost forever. Like all Fell Things, it was to return. And with it, would return the Dark Lord to his Dark Throne. Unless, of course, a company of Men, Elves and Dwarfs were to stop him. Unless, of course, one lonely Hobbit could find a way to cast the Ring into the fires from whence it came. About J. R. R. Tolkien The English speaking world, it is said, is divided into two: those who have read Tolkien's books, and those who are going to. J. R. R. Tolkien is known for his Middle-Earth novels and his legendarium.
