The Keymaster Legacy: Volume I, introduces the first two books in the series.
When twelve-year-old Leo is sent to his Great-Aunt Mildred's antique manor for the summer, he discovers the house is not merely old; it's a dimensional fortress under siege. Thrust into the role of Keymaster, Leo must secure the house's boundary against catastrophic, cosmic chaos.
Book 1: The House That Doesn't Forget
The saga begins when Leo follows a tune into the Attic and confronts the Sweeter-Than-Sleep Weaver, a monster that feeds on forgotten joy. Guided by Elspeth, a sharp, one-eyed porcelain doll who serves as his cynical Anchor, Leo descends into the Cellar of Sighs to battle the Griever, an entity built of solidified regret. His mission is a non-stop race through four hidden emotional Pillars—Desire, Sorrow, Thought, and Self—culminating in a final confrontation beneath the garden's Well of Truth. By sealing the house's core, Leo temporarily saves his Sanctuary, but his victory only unleashes the next threat.
Book 2: The Root-Bound King
The chaos Leo sealed leaks, fueling the surrounding forest with wild, untamed magic. The woods become the unstable Glade of Evolving Shadows, and the first monster to breach the perimeter is the Root-Bound King, a resentful spirit that locks down all movement and free will. Leo must recruit Murgle, a quirky Moss-Seer, to navigate the treacherous Woods of Whispering Roots and anchor the perimeter before the chaos of the outside world, led by an imminent Legal Foe, can shatter his reality and steal his Sanctuary.
