The twelfth book in the New York Times best-selling Villains series goes down the rabbit hole to explore how Disney’s maddest villain—the Queen of Hearts—lost her head.
The Queen of Hearts has always ruled Wonderland. “A place for everything, and everything in its place” was her motto. All was right and proper in her kingdom, until that wretched god Hades and those Odd Sisters broke the worlds. Now new and strange creatures crowd Wonderland and none of them understand that everything must be done her way. Even her precious roses are no longer red.
But Wonderland is still her kingdom to rule. She holds all the cards. The Queen of Hearts will put everything back in its proper place. The only way to do so is to send a message. Heads. Will. Roll.
She decides to throw a party to bring this about. Croquet, card games, executions. Everyone in Wonderland receives an invitation. But there is one guest the queen does not expect. A girl named Alice.
