Young teens making their musical debut playing for tipsy adults at a cocktail party; avoiding a near drug-bust when a policeman misinterprets the behavior of a blind vocalist; finding an unlikely “dressing room” at a swanky yacht club; the appearance of a demonic dinner guest after seeing “the Exorcist”; becoming an accidental “Peeping Tom” when bachelor party antics of a neighbor take an unexpected turn, and hearing about an assault first hand from the “Easter Bunny”.
These are only a few of the humorous and surprising stories experienced by Johnny Bouret when playing in various Top 40 bands from the late 60s to the early 90s though out California and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Abandoning his aspirations of being an actor, (in the horror movie genre), when he saw his first live band set-up and play at the age of 11, Johnny wanted nothing more than to be in a working Top 40 band; singing and performing the music he loved in front of a live audience.
Buckle your seat belts and enjoy the many unexpected twists and turns of this literary version of an amusement park ride as relayed by a master raconteur.
